Test Ideas

Wendy Ding
Wink idea - signal of romantic affection. I realised I cannot wink without making my eye crinkle up makes it a struggle to create a design.. Works only on paper drawing :) Chances that my model would be able to wink for me on a shoot are 50/50.

Cross between Boy George and Adam Ant: Model, Paul
I've practised some ideas on my male model. Paul did not like the eyeliner around his eyes. This made me realise that not every person I ask to be my model would tolerate make up near eyes in particular. The end result turned out pretty good considering my model was moaning all the way through and had really watery eyes.

Jonny Woo in Bizarre Magazine:

My Mermaid Character make up test. This was my improvisation which I intuitively created whilst watching science fiction tv. Although, I used my 120 colour palette it's a little looks like a face paint.

Mermaid is a legendary romantic goddess from Andersen's tale. Although, she has female forms at the top of the body yet the fact that she has a fish-like tail half way down this may suggest that it well maybe a mixed gender character. I thought of the theme confused gender and I believe this will fit the concept quite well. Moreover, this look is quite freaky and alien like.
This make up is quite specific and perhaps too theatrical for Club Culture. Textured bottom half of the face might be not practical for clubbing.
NB. The glittery detail on my jew and chin I achieved my dunking my face in a bowl with glitter. These segments of glitter I bought big tab of from the 99p store.
